  20. I can't really speak as to the neccessity of sync vs. non-sync, but I CAN
  21. say that the -08 chip WAS completely neccessary for me to use my external
  22. CD-ROM on my 3000 without incurring any errors. I'm very suprised that you
  23. are able to use all those devices without the -08 chip. I also have a Zip
  24. drive that works perfectly, but I got it after I got the -08 chip, so I
  25. don't know if it would have worked as well without the -08 or not. In any
  26. case, it certainly couldn't hurt to get an -08...
