- I can't really speak as to the neccessity of sync vs. non-sync, but I CAN
- say that the -08 chip WAS completely neccessary for me to use my external
- CD-ROM on my 3000 without incurring any errors. I'm very suprised that you
- are able to use all those devices without the -08 chip. I also have a Zip
- drive that works perfectly, but I got it after I got the -08 chip, so I
- don't know if it would have worked as well without the -08 or not. In any
- case, it certainly couldn't hurt to get an -08...
